Job description
This role involves working closely with the Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo) and the Learning Support Team to manage all administrative tasks related to supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND).

Main responsibilities
Supporting the SENCo in maintaining high-quality records for all pupils with SEND
Developing and managing the system for creating and reviewing Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
Supporting and coordinating ‘Team Around the Child’ meetings
Producing accurate minutes for all meetings concerning pupils with SEND
Developing and maintaining an organised filing system for all SEND-related documentation
Liaising with feeder schools and external agencies to ensure that all relevant SEND information is received and shared appropriately
Communicating on behalf of the SENCo with parents and external professionals regarding pupils with SEND
Supporting the SENCo in the assessment process for pupils with SEND
Assisting the SENCo and Learning Support Team in managing data related to pupils with SEND
Supporting the administration and documentation of access arrangements for internal and external examinations
Managing the provision of access arrangements during exams
Assisting with the timetabling of Learning Support teachers and assistants
Responding to telephone calls, emails, and other queries from parents and external professionals as required
Carrying out general administrative tasks including photocopying, printing, organising displays, event planning, and budget-related coordination

Job requirements
Fluency in both English and Portuguese
Bachelor’s degree
Experience in administrative roles
Experience working with children with special educational needs (desirable)
Experience in dynamic, complex school environments
Strong data management and spreadsheet skills
Familiarity with school operations and environments (desirable)
Ability to learn quickly and adapt well to changing situations
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong multitasking and prioritisation abilities
Organised, calm under pressure, and proactive in approach
Empathy and sensitivity when working with pupils with SEND and their families
Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively within a team
Proficiency in IT systems, particularly Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Forms, SharePoint, OneNote and OneDrive)
