About the role

Lead the People & Development unit, driving strategic recruitment, training and development, performance management, and culture initiatives for a 270-employee international school. Act as a player-coach, balancing hands-on programme delivery with strategic leadership of two direct reports.

Key Responsibilities 

•        Design and lead the school's training and development strategy

•        Build structured onboarding programmes for all four employee populations (local teachers, expat teachers, teaching/class assistants, admin)

•        Develop leadership capability among pedagogical and administrative leaders

•        Create and manage the performance management cycle

•        Lead strategic recruitment for local teachers, expat teachers, and leadership roles

•        Supervise and develop the Business Partner and People Analyst

•        Design career pathways and succession planning frameworks

•        Drive employee engagement and culture initiatives

•        Partner with the HR Director on workforce planning and organisational design

•        Report People & Development and recruitment KPIs to the HR Director

Job requirements

Qualifications & Requirements

•        Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Organisational Development, or related field; postgraduate preferred

•        8+ years of experience in T&D, organisational development, or HR business partnering

•        Proven experience designing and delivering training programmes

•        Experience in recruitment, ideally in education or international environments

•        Experience managing at least two direct reports

•        Fluent in Portuguese and English

•        Knowledge of competency frameworks and performance management systems
