Job description

We are looking for an accomplished Application Developer to join our EdTech team, providing essential support to our Data, Strategy, and Application projects. The successful candidate will manage the day-to-day maintenance of our MIS system (iSAMS), essential systems, databases, and support application development in our School.

A proactive individual with excellent communication skills and proven technical expertise is required. Experience in software development using the Microsoft Power Platform is highly desirable.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and implement database applications to meet the school’s requirements
  • Collaborate with IT teams, administrate teams, and our academic teams to collect, organise and analyse requirements
  • Optimise database performance and ensure data integrity and security
  • Develop and maintain documentation for database applications and processes
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues
  • Perform regular database maintenance and updates
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices
  • Portal in SharePoint customisation
  • PowerApps development (including understanding formulas and methods)
  • Create custom processes and connectors with Microsoft Power Automate
  • Create SQL Report Service language.
  • Support the development of students’ grades spreadsheets and analysis

Job requirements

Education: Bachelor in Computer Science, Information Technology or related fields

Language: Fluent Portuguese. A minimum level of Intermediate English is required, as this is the official language of the School and the position will be interacting with many stakeholders who only speak English.

Experience: database administration and application development.


Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in SQL and database management systems
  • Experience with application development frameworks
  • Knowledge of data integration
  • Familiarity with cloud-based database solutions (Azure), PowerApps, SharePoint, Microsoft 365, Microsoft Teams, SQL Report Service, Advanced Excel

We are looking for someone with:

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
    • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
    • Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and accuracy

Desirable Qualifications:

Certification in database management or related technologies.
